BROKEN HAZE (Keisuke Ito) is an acclaimed producer / DJ from Tokyo, Japan, whose style draws from various gernes from dubstep, grime, beats, hip hop to UK funky. His futuristic synth melodies and glitchy beats are the staple of his genre hopping style.

Broken Haze broke onto the scene after releasing his split EP alongside 2010 Red Bull Music Academy graduate B. Bravo(Frite Nite) creating buzz both in Japan and globally.
2012 saw him follow up with his next EP “Lightning Flash” from Top Billin (Finland) creating noise from national and international audiences, with his sonds playing on Rinse.FM (Hyperdub, LuckyMe, etc.) He is also a name in the fashion scene, producing runway music for White Mountaineering and tracks for Atsushi Nakashima’s fashion shows as well as handling the official mix for Spanish street brand Shoop.

His last album, released in November 2013 – “Vital Error” featured the likes of DE DE MOUSE, Machinedrum (Ninja Tune), S-Type (LuckyMe), Bobby Tank, Takashi Kashikura (toe) and gained him worldwide attention with Pitchfork and Earmilk both showcasing his album. His whimsical melodious tunes and those superseding the latest dance music trends garnered high acclaim from the national and global audiences, giving him an unshakable position in the dance music scene.

In Japan, he is the DJ and MC for his own radio program, Cloud Castle Radio on Block.FM, captivating audiences with his genre-hopping DJ style.

Keisuke Itoによるソロ・ユニット。切ないメロディーと近未来を想像させるシンセ音、そして予測不可能な力強いビートを絡めたそのサウンドは、日本国内だけでなく、ヨーロッパやU.Sからも注目が集まっている。

2012年には、最先端音楽とメディア・アートの祭典SónarSound Tokyoで巧みなライブパフォーマンスを披露。また、海外音楽メディアXLR8R等で絶賛され、RINSE.FMのHyperdubやLuckyMeのショーでもプレイされた楽曲「Air Castles」などを収録したEPを名門TOP BILLINからリリース。また、Bunkai-keiのコンピレーション参加や、ファッション・ブランドWhite Mountaineeringのランウェイ・ミュージックをプロデュースするなど、国内外の音楽シーンだけでなく、ファッション・シーンでも活躍する。
2013年にはDE DE MOUSE、Machinedrum (Ninja Tune)、S-Type (LuckyMe)、Bobby Tank、柏倉隆史(toe)が参加した2nd アルバム『Vital Error』をリリース。国内はもちろん、海外ではPitchforkでもアルバムが紹介されるなど、最新のダンス・ミュージックを通過したサウンドが世界的に評価され、翌年2014年にはCanblaster (ClubCheval)などをリミキサーに迎え、アルバムからのシングル・カットとなるシングル3作をリリースした。

パフォーマンスでは、ベースミュージックと切ないメロディーを聴かせるDJプレイを得意としており、過去にBBCやRBMA RADIO、ベルリンFM等へミックス提供を行いヨーロッパを中心に評価を得ている。国内ではダブステップに留まらず、ジューク、フットワークにまたがる多様性を打ち出すレーベル< Hyperdub >のレーベル・パーティーの東京公演、Cashmere Catの東京ツアー、Outlook Festival Japanなど数多くの良質なパーティーに出演している。毎月第1・3水曜日にはインターネット・ラジオblock.fm内の番組「CLOUD CASTLE RADIO」のホストも努めており、HoodboiやAlizzzなど国外の注目アーティストを迎えたゲストミックスが話題になっている、多くのジャンルをスタイリッシュにつなぐDJプレイも魅力の一つと言えよう。また、「ロックコンサートを体感しているようだ」と形容されるダンス・ミュージックの枠を越えたライブ・パフォーマンスは必見である。

自身の制作活動、パフォーマンスと並行して、浜崎あゆみやURATA NAOYA (AAA)、ロロロ（クチロロ）、SKY-HI (AAA)などのメジャーシーンで活躍するアーティストの楽曲に最先端の音楽テイストを持ち込む一方で、CROOKERSや80KIDZ、Olympic Ayresなど世界に活躍するアーティストや若手ユニットHyperJuiceのリミックスなど手がけるなど最前線での活躍を見せている。
